The staff at the Family Birthing Center understands that it is every woman’s right to choose how to feed her new baby. However, with all the medical benefits to breastfeeding, it is no surprise that the Family Birthing Center is a strong advocate for it. That’s why we provide breastfeeding support following the baby’s birth. A full-time International Board Certified Lactation Consultant is on staff to assist mothers during their stay at the hospital.

Babies don’t come with breastfeeding instructions. In fact, babies and mothers both have to learn what works best. Our experienced staff is here to help. At any time, moms are welcome to call for additional support. Outpatient visits with the Lactation Consultant can also be arranged.
