| | | Myth: If you develop high blood pressure during your pregnancy,you will inevitably develop pre-eclamsia. Fact: This is a myth. A woman can have an elevated blood pressure due to stress. One episode does not necessarily mean the woman will develop pre-eclampsia. However, a pregnant woman with an elevated blood pressure needs to be monitored in case it does evolve into pregnancy-induced hypertension. The doctor should monitor this and his/her advice should be followed. |
